Timeshare Review: Diamond Resorts - Royal Palm Beach Resort
January 5th, 2009Diamond Resorts - Royal Palm Beach Resort (previously Sunterra)
Soak up the warm sun, sea and sand while at Royal Palm Beach Club. You’ll find plenty of activities to fill your hours– both in the daytime and well into the night on this tropical half-Dutch, half- French island. At the beach you can swim, water ski, jet ski, snorkel, or sail. Take a dip in the resort’s oceanfront pool. Excellent bargains in Duty Free shopping can be found in nearby Marigot on the French side or Philipsburg on the Dutch side. The island also boasts a large number of gourmet restaurants. Day trips to some of the neighboring islands are a must for sightseers.
All the timeshare suites are beachfront, and the resort offers an overflowing-style swimming pool right on the beach, a sundeck, and picnic area with barbecue grills. You’ll enjoy steel bands, carnival dancers, sunset cruises, twilight buffets, and spectacular sunsets. A complimentary shuttle service is available to take you to Royal Palm Beach Resort’s sister property, Sunterra’s Flamingo Beach Resort, where you can take advantage of the beach and even more amenities. Royal Palm is just a five-minute drive from the airport.
All accommodations are beachfront at Royal Palm Beach Resort. Situated on a beautiful bay, with a picturesque backdrop of rising green hills and Caribbean splendor, your stay promises to be a tropical delight.
With superb views of the brilliant blue sea, strolls on the powdery white sand and a resort complete with poolside bistros, steel bands and spectacular sunsets, who could ask for more?
Taking a timeshare vacation at fully equipped Royal Palm Beach Resort promises fun-filled days with a variety of water sports on the secluded beach, tennis and golf and the exuberance of Caribbean nightlife.
The timeshare unit was very spacious, and had a full kitchen, king beds in both bedrooms, and US cable channels. With all of the fabulous restaurants in the area, we did not use the kitchen for anything except coffee and a light lunch. The weather is always nice and there was a balcony off of the living room with a beautiful view of the pool, beach and ocean. There was a large pool with a swim-up bar, small beach with chairs, and an open-air restaurant on the premises. Additionally, there were several concessionaires on the premises as well - video and cell phone rental, fitness center, water sports rentals, deli/liquor store, internet café, and others. A security guard controlled access to the parking lot.
The staff is very courteous and helpful. Rooms come with complimentary maid service daily during your week. You are allowed to use the facilities at the other Sunterra resort - the Flamingo that is located just across the bay. There is complimentary shuttle service between the two locations.
The activities desk in the lobby could arrange off-site activities such as dinner cruises, horseback riding, day trips to other islands, and the like.
The resort was located in Simpson Bay, which is about 10 minutes from the airport. There are many restaurants and casinos in the area within walking distance.
Spent time in the two capitals of Phillipsburg and Marigot. The timeshare resort and island are suitable for couples or families. One can relax or party as much as you want.
