Timeshare - St. Martin/St. Maarten Beaches

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

In general, as a timeshare owner or visitor to St. Martin/St. Maarten you will find people want to visit as many beaches as possible. On the island of St. Martin/St. Maarten the beaches to the east or windward side are windier, and the waters of the Atlantic are rougher. The leeward beaches to the west and southwest are calmer, facing the Caribbean Sea. While you are vacationing on the island, try to enjoy as much as you can the pristine waters of the island!
The beaches here are unparalleled in the Caribbean: They are clean, their sand is white, and the sea is crystal clear and aqua blue.

Maho Beach: a beach with a thrill on Dutch St Maarten

Maho Beach is facing the west of the Caribbean sea, so sunset views are great, but sometimes obstructed by approaching airplanes landing at close by Princess Juliana airport (SXM).

The beach is lined with rocks, and waters can be rough at times. Snorkeling is supposed to be good around the rocks.

Maho Beach is a small stretch of white beach, but it is the location what attracts all of its visitors. The beach is located at the southern end of the runway of Princess Juliana International Airport, thus providing you with a very special experience: For those who love a thrill, watch and see incoming Jumbo jets gliding in and landing on the strip.

Don´t forget to bring your camera, because nowhere else a Jumbo Jet will be passing as close over your head as on Maho Beach. Sit right in the middle of the beach, and you will get the full chilly blow! And when jets are taking off, the blast is so strong that it´s blowing sand and belongings all over the place!

Maho Bay has a sparkling beach ringed with seagrapes and shaded by palm trees. The beach has several nice hotels and restaurants, so it’s convenient to go to those closeby facilities such as Caravanserai Resort, Cheri’s Cafe, Maho’s Beach Resort, or Sunset Beach Bar.

Timeshare - St. Martin/St. Maarten Beaches

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

The leeward beaches to the west and southwest are calmer, facing the Caribbean Sea. While you are vacationing on the island, try to enjoy as much as you can the pristine waters of the island!

The beaches here are unparalleled in the Caribbean: They are clean, their sand is white, and the sea is crystal clear and aqua blue.

Burgeaux Bay Beach: a quiet little beach on Dutch St Maarten. The perfect spot to watch the boats pass by, and to wait for the sunset.

Burgeaux Bay Beach is located on the western end of Simpson Bay, which is part of the Beacon Hill area of Dutch St. Maarten. You reach it over a short, but rough, unpaved road from the western end of the airport at Sunset Beach Bar. There are only very few beach access paths between some of the villas and cottages. It never gets busy here, so you always feel like having the beach for your own.

This small beach stretches for a few hundred yards between villas and the sea. Despite a few rocks in the water are to overcome, when you go for a swim, it is still a nice place for kids and adults. As this side of the island is protected from the sometimes strong eastern winds, water is rarely ever rough at this location.

Burgeaux Bay Beach is close to where the action is on the island, but still far away from anything, which could limit relaxation and having a good time. Nice rental homes, condos, and cottages, like the one below, are lined up between local villas. View to the East, where the tiny peninsula ends. This area is a good alternative to near by Maho and Simpson Bay beaches. Some of the vacation properties take care that you swing into the right holiday mood.

Timeshare - St. Martin/St. Maarten Beaches

The beaches here are unparalleled in the Caribbean: They are clean, their sand is white, and the sea is crystal clear and aqua blue.

Kim Sha Beach on Dutch St Maarten: for sunsets, or to go on boat excursions….

Most people will say that Kim Sha Beach is a part of Simpson Beach, but actually it is located outside the lagoon, which makes it a perfect area for excursion and dive boats to start their trips. The beach is wide and flat, and runs from the Royal Palm Beach Club (at the Western end of Cole Bay) to the Atrium Beach Resort.

You can get drinks, chairs and umbrellas from the commercial establishments on Kim Sha Beach. In the center of the beach is Ocean Explorers Dive Center, a certified PADI dive shop. Westport Water sports is another popular water sport shop on the beach, and in case you are up to Parasailing they will make your day!

Some of the excursion boats, and dive boats leave from Kim Sha Beach, e.g. from Ocean Explorers.

The eastern end of the beach has a good sunset view, and a good little bar where you can watch it while sipping a sundowner. Another, recently opened bar is the Buccaneer Bar, which is rapidly becoming a popular meeting place, and with a great view of the bay.

Parts of Kim Sha Beach have been man-made, as new sand was filled into some areas of the beach after heavy erosion took its toll.

Timeshare and the Best Ski Resorts

Monday, January 28th, 2008

Skiing is part of the great vacation adventure for the timeshare owner. Trying to stay up on the best resorts or slopes and runs will be our attempt to keep you informed. The perfect family ski resort may run counter to your kids’ expectations: It’s a vacation, but we have to go to school? However, education begets liberty when it comes to the white stuff, so a good ski school should be as much part of your planning as what outfits to wear.

At Killington, Vermont, you’ll know this is a special destination as you approach, and the seven mountains of Killington rise up to greet you. Whether blanketed in winter white, sporting the deep emerald the Green Mountains are named for, or dazzling in fiery fall color, these mountains know no season.

The Killington Region is an all-season vacation destination. With some of the highest and most varied mountain terrain in New England, Killington is the choice for outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds. Killington Resort is one of the largest ski areas in the world - 95 miles of skiing and snowboarding terrain, many of which also support mountain biking and hiking when the snows have melted. The famous Appalachian and Long Trails transverse these mountains, as do miles of VAST trails, the Vermont Association of Snow Travelers snowmobile and cross country ski statewide trail system.

For less rugged adventure, this spectacular mountain setting is home to two PGA golf courses, with 12 area courses just a short drive away. The Killington Region is known as the heart of Vermont for more than one reason. Ideally located in the center of the state, it is the perfect base for all of your Vermont adventures. While our region offers a multitude of recreation, lodging and dining choices, most all destinations of interest, both North and South, are just a scenic ride away. We can help you plan day trips to some of Vermont’s scenic, historic and recreation points of interest.

Timeshare – A Bahamas Vacation and The Best Golf Courses

Sunday, January 27th, 2008

There are thousands of golf courses in the Caribbean. But even if you’re a regular to the region, some of its best golf courses might still remain secret. So we embarked on a fact finding mission, combing every golf course from Anguilla to Tobago, and soliciting every expert we know. Here, are lists of most popular courses in The Bahamas.

Cable Beach: The main draw is the Cable Beach Golf Course (tel. 242/327-1741). The oldest golf course in The Bahamas, this par-72 green was the private retreat of British expatriates in the 1930s. Today it’s managed by a corporate namesake of Arnold Palmer and owned by Cable Beach casino marketers. Small ponds and water traps heighten the challenge, amid more than 7,040 yards of well-maintained greens and fairways.

Paradise Island: Tom Weiskopf designed Ocean Club Golf Club (tel. 242/363-3000; www.oneandonlyresorts.com), an 18-hole, par-72 course, and it’s a stunner. With challenges that include the world’s largest sand trap and water hazards (mainly the Atlantic Ocean) on three sides, the course has received praise from Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player. For the best panoramic ocean view — good enough to take your mind off your game — play the par-3 14th hole.

Grand Lucaya, Grand Bahama Island: Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., The Reef Course (tel. 242/373-1333) opened in 2000. The Bahamian press called it a bit like a Scottish course, “but a lot warmer.” The course boasts 6,920 yards of links-style greens.

The Exumas: At long last, the Southern Bahamas has a world-class golf course: Four Seasons Resort Emerald Bay Golf Club opens onto the waters of Emerald Bay (tel. 242/366-6800). The par-72, 18-hole course was designed by Greg Norman, who created six oceanfront holes. The course is challenging yet not daunting, so it appeals to golfers of various skills.

The wide and flat beach runs from the Royal Palm Beach Club past The Horny Toad Guesthouse and Mary’s Boon Beach Plantation to Beacon Hill along the back of the airport.

Although the beach is lovely, it is frequented only by few, and is well worth the visit for lovers of deserted beaches. It has some water sports, yet it is still a quiet and relaxing beach.

Access to Simpson Bay Beach is possible either from the Mary´s Boon Beach Plantation or from behind the Pizza Hut, off Airport Road.

Timeshare - The Most Magnficent Caribbean Beaches

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

There are thousands of beaches in the Caribbean. But even if you’re a regular to the region, some of its most secluded beaches and waterfront establishments might still remain secret. So we embarked on a fact-finding mission, combing every beach and islet from Anguilla to Tobago, and soliciting every style-savvy Caribbean expert we know. Here, our favorites: This is 1 of the top 50 must-see spots on your next island getaway.

Anegada, British Virgin Islands More than 300 ships have crashed into the sharp reefs surrounding this deceptively tiny islet. The part you see is only 15 miles around. But on the north end’s Loblolly Bay, the reef is so close to the crescent-shaped shore that waves are reduced to lapping white foam.
