Westin Lagunamar Ocean Resort Review

Sunday, August 31st, 2008

Timeshare at The Westin Lagunamar Ocean Resort you will enjoy luxurious new vacation homes surrounded by the indescribable beauty of the Caribbean Sea and the rich history of the Yucatan Peninsula. A magnificent destination where once only Mayans had walked, Cancun has become Mexico’s “Costa del Sol,” a flawless portrait of serenity. Perfectly positioned for access to beautiful beaches, waterfront restaurants, shopping malls, golf courses, day trips to nearby islands, and some of Mexico’s best underwater diving sites, Cancun is a modern paradise a place for adventures into the past and present.

The Westin Lagunamar timeshare resort is very conveniently located in the Hotel Zone. It’s right across the street from the La Isla Plaza shopping mall with many upscale stores, restaurants, bars, and all the conveniences, like several rental car shops, an aquarium that offers swim with dolphins and even a Cinemark Theater! Unlike some other parts of Cancun, the beach had plenty of sands, but it was kind of narrow.

We had an awesome time at the Westin Lagunamar Resort. The pools, the water slide, and the beach are excellent. The resort is upscale and fully equipped units, the excellent facilities and amenities, the nearby conveniences, and the beautiful views! This is an exceptional resort for couples and families.

Sea Mountain Review

Saturday, August 30th, 2008

Sea Mountain is a 76-unit timeshare facility on the south coast of the Big island, halfway between Hilo and Kailua-Kona, Also known as: Vacation Internationale Sea Mountain.

This timeshare resort overlooks the Pacific Ocean and its own 18-hole golf course. A half-mile away is the lovely black sand beach of Punalu’u.

Sea Mountain timeshare Resort offers studio, one, and two bedroom accommodations. Studio units sleep four and feature a queen bed and sleeper sofa. One-bedroom units sleep four and feature a queen bed in the bedroom and a Murphy bed in the living area. Two-bedroom units sleep six and feature queen beds in both bedrooms, and a Murphy bed in the living area. All units have a fully-equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, and cable TV.

Just a half-hour drive away is Volcanoes National Park. Experience the thrill of watching molten lava traverse down the slope of an active volcano. Hiking through the park is great exercise and also very educational as you walk across dormant volcano craters.

Located at Mile post 56, it is closer to Hilo than the Kona area by about 80 miles. The resort is a small condo area called Colony One right on the golf course with nice views of the ocean. The 1 bedroom unit is compact, like a ski cabin, with the bedroom down at the entry way and the living/kitchen upstairs. The unit was clean, looked as if it had just been updated, had a complete kitchen, washer/dryer and full bath with one small TV in the living area . The lanai was great, and the breezes kept the unit comfortable.

Check in was easy, and quick, the staff was great. The pool area looked nice and clean. They had several gas barbeques located near the pool.

The resort is well landscaped and very nicely maintained. Most of the units are wholly owned, with VI having the only timeshare units, 28 assorted studios through 2 bedrooms suites.

The Bay Club at Waikoloa Beach Resort Review

Friday, August 29th, 2008

Bay Club at Waikoloa Beach Resort timeshare resales are available now! The Bay Club at Waikoloa Beach is a quiet resort nestled among golf courses, lava fields, and ancient Hawaiian petroglyphs. Offering spacious one- and two-bedroom timeshare condominiums, this resort is perfect for families or vacationing with friends. One-bedroom units sleep four with a king bed in the master bedroom and a queen sleeper sofa in the living area. Two-bedroom units sleep six with a king bed in the master bedroom, two full-size beds in the guest bedroom, and a queen sleeper sofa. All units area equipped with a full-size kitchen, washer/dryer, air conditioning, and a TV in the living area and bedrooms.

The Bay Club features two swimming pools, children’s pool, children’s play area, exercise facility, and tennis courts. If you want a snack and don’t feel like cooking, head to the 3 Frog’s Café for a quick bite. The resort also offers a free shuttle to the beach, golf courses, King’s Shops, and the Hilton Waikoloa Village, home of Dolphin Quest.

The Kohala coast is scattered with dozens of white sand beaches. While some are easy to find and easily accessible, such as Hapuna, others require a sense of adventure and an off-road vehicle. Whichever you choose you will not be disappointed by the soft sand, clear blue water, and variety of tropical fish.

The Bay Club is completely integrated into the Hilton Grand Vacation Club. The Bay Club is the older section, but the better area – bigger units, more spacious grounds. The units are absolutely palatial – perhaps 2,000 square feet of living space. The Bay Club has several different floor plans. We got a “villa” which is a four plex, with private covered at-door parking. The other floor plans are just as spacious, but not quite as private. Each bedroom has a huge bath with dual sinks, a soaking tub, and separate shower. A hall half-bath adds to the luxury.

The first master suite had a king, the second two doubles. The lanai is huge, with a table and chairs, a couple of chaise lounges, and room for 25 other people as well. The kitchen is very well-equipped.

The Bay Club provides free wifi, free computers (and a printer, for your boarding pass), free local calls, and a welcome gift. Unlike some Hawaii timeshares, there was no energy surcharge, no phone charges, and no hassle about a timeshare tour. The concierge calls once a day to offer to help you with arrangements.

Mid-week service included changing all the sheets, replacing towels, replacing toiletries, and taking out the trash. There was an unlimited supply of beach and pool towels at the beach, with no check-out or other accounting system.

There are upscale restaurants at the Hilton, Marriott, and at the Kings Shops, and now there is even a fast food court (Subway, Arby’s DQ, OJ, plus Chinese and Noodle) at the new Queen’s Shops. A new moderate-priced Thai restaurant has opened at the Queen’s Shops, and a grocery store will open soon. 4 miles away, at the Mauna Lani shops, there is a Foodland, and a few other restaurants.

Wyndham Kona Hawaiian Resort Review

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

Formerly known as Fairfield Hawaii at Kona Hawaiian Resort, timeshare resales can be found from our real estate brokerage.

Wyndham Kona Hawaiian Resort is situated on more than 30 sloping acres overlooking Kahului Bay in Kailua-Kona, Fairfield Hawaii at Kona Hawaiian Resort is constructed in a style reminiscent of old Hawaii. Every detail of this luxury timeshare resort is designed to recreate the charming island ambiance found in the 1930s, while still providing the comforts and amenities of the times.

Kona Hawaiian Resort features two-bedroom bungalows complete with air conditioning, fully equipped kitchens, separate living and dining areas, a king bed and jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom, a queen bed in the guest bedroom, and a queen sleeper sofa in the living area. Bamboo, teak, wicker, floral fabrics, and Hawaiian art add Hawaiian charm to the interiors.

Amenities on-site include two outdoor swimming pools, a children’s pool, exercise facility, and two outdoor hot tubs. Signature events include an Aloha Monday Party with a flower lei greeting, complementary appetizers, live Hawaiian music, and hula dancing. The resort also offers a variety of family events including ukulele lessons, Hawaiian story telling, lauhala bracelet weaving, and Hawaiian angel doll making.

The unit itself is lovely. It has a very large living room and two large bedrooms. Each one had a wardrobe and the master room had an impressive bathroom. There is a double sink area, a hairdryer, a closeted toilet and a shower with a bench and a swinging bamboo door. There is also a free standing claw footed tub with whirlpool. The kitchen is fully stocked for 8 people and there is an iron and ironing board, along with extra linens and beach towels in a utility closet. There is a stacked washer and dryer in the central bath, which also has the bamboo swinging door on the shower. It is accessible from the 2nd bedroom and the main living area.

There are two pools, a hot tub, and 2 BBQs, all in the same area of the resort. There are lots of activities for kids and adults under a tent near the entrance.

The resort is about a block or so from a surfing “beach” and there are many options to get to the water along public pathways. Parking in town can be difficult. About 3 miles south of the resort is a public beach, Kahalu’u Beach Park that offers incredible snorkeling literally a few feet off the sand. There is a fair amount of free parking and free showers.

Paniolo Greens Resort Review

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

Timeshare Resales are located in the hilltop setting of Waikoloa Village, Paniolo Greens is a great family vacation destination. This quiet resort offers spacious accommodations decorated in a Hawaiian “Paniolo” (Hawaiian cowboy) theme, fabulous on-site amenities, panoramic vistas, and rolling ranch lands.
Paniolo Greens offers two-story, two-bedroom timeshare accommodations. Each unit features a king bed in the master bedroom, a queen bed in the second bedroom, a sleeper sofa in the living area, and TVs in every room. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee on your large private lanai, while your significant other makes a delicious breakfast in the fully equipped kitchen. Units are also equipped with a washer/dryer.
Enjoy all the amenities of this Hawaiian homestead. Take a dip in the sparkling pool, play a game of tennis or horseshoes, and keep busy with the Hula lessons and lei making classes.
Don’t let the black lava landscape of the Big Island deceive you. The Kohala coast is scattered with dozens of white sand beaches, all available to the public. Hapuna Beach, just up the road, is an island paradise with a wide beach and calm waters, perfect for adults and kids alike.
Paniolo Greens, in Waikoloa, is located about 30 minutes north of Kona. It is well worth the drive as this area is much less congested, closer to some of the best beaches and restaurants on the island and has a cool breeze keeping the unit cool without a need for a/c. The unit was a 2 bedroom with 2 baths and was adequate. The kitchen was a good size and had all the appliances needed, oven, toaster, microwave, dishwasher and blender. Kitchen utensils are adequate and you can prepare meals without any difficulty. There are also gas grills on the grounds and we grilled fresh fish several nights. The beds were comfortable and the unit clean and well-maintained.

Resort staff were very helpful and responsive. They have an orientation meeting to get an idea of the island and had representatives from various activity companies on hand if you wanted to sign up for any activities across the island. There are wonderful opportunities for snorkeling, sailing, fishing and luaus. The resort rents chairs and an umbrella to take to the beach. There is a golf course right there as well as others scattered over the island.

Aruba Divi Village Golf and Beach Resort Review

Monday, August 25th, 2008

Aruba’s white-sand beaches and breathtaking shades of blue and green waters are sure to be a fabulous backdrop for your memorable vacation at Divi Village Golf & Beach Resort. Nearby, you can enjoy all types of water activities by day, and casino and live entertainment by night. Let the resort’s restaurant prepare your meals while you visit with friends and resort guests. Visit the Seaport, five miles away, for shopping or to see what’s in port. Or play the Links at Divi Aruba golf course. You’re sure to enjoy your stay on sunny Aruba at this resort.

A stay at Divi Village Golf & Beach Resort and you will not be disappointed. Check-in was a breeze and the staff very friendly. There is a small bar and restaurant there but we didn’t utilize them or many of the onsite activities. Our one bedroom villa was very spacious, clean and well-equipped. The unit had two full bathrooms. We had a CD player and great speaker system. There was a grocery store nearby and we cooked breakfast in the unit every morning and went out for dinner. The kitchen met our basic needs. There were some coffee filters and salt and pepper shakers. The unit has washer and dryer. It is worth going to the welcome meeting.

Even though this resort is across the road from the ocean, there is such little traffic that wasn’t a problem. It is nice that there is a bar on the beach that you can charge to your room. I think not looking at the water from the unit made me be more in awe of the beautiful aqua water each day that I saw it. I love Aruba. You can count on the weather always being great. We enjoyed the Tierra del Sol golf course and even if you don’t golf the Ventana del Mar restaurant there is worth the 7 mile trip. Divi is right in the middle of everything - between the hi-rise area and downtown.

Divi Village Aruba Resort Review

Aruba’s white-sand beaches and breathtaking shades of blue and green waters are sure to be a fabulous backdrop for your memorable vacation at Divi Village.

I’d stay at the Divi Village again. There is a pool out back and another one a few steps from the front door. The beach was a short walk away. Put your towels out on the lounge chairs early in the morning to secure your own private hut. Kitchens are fully equipped with convection microwave ovens.

All rooms were renovated, with king beds, and lots of room. The grounds are kept clean, and everything is available with a phone call. No high pressure sales pitches, although they want you to look at the new golf course condos.

The staff is pleasing. Whether it’s a couple or family, there is plenty to do at the beach. The beach was a short walk away. Put your towels out on the lounge chairs early in the morning to secure your own private hut. Kitchens are fully equipped with convection microwave ovens.

Divi Golf and Beach Resort Review

Saturday, August 23rd, 2008

Aruba’s white-sand beaches and breathtaking blue and green waters are sure to be a fabulous backdrop for your memorable vacation at Divi Village Golf and Beach Resort. On site enjoy the challenging nine-hole golf course, or nearby you can enjoy water activities by day and casino and live entertainment by night. Let the resort’s restaurants prepare your meals while you visit with friends and resort guests. Visit the seaport five miles away to shop or see what is in port. You’re sure to enjoy your stay on sunny Aruba at Divi Village Golf and Beach Resort.

This is part of the Divi Village is brand new. The unit size is generous. We were in a 1 bedroom with 2 full baths. The bedroom bath was a tub Jacuzzi. Lots of closet and storage space. Kitchen was efficient - settings for 4. The balcony was nice - overlooks a gorgeous pool. We ate every meal we had in the villa out there.

Check-in was a breeze. Golf carts took us to our room and luggage came shortly afterwards. There were various activities onsite. Many new units going up so this wonderful huge pool being built will be a popular place. There are also two large hot tubs on the roof but they weren’t hooked up yet - don’t know how noisy they might be but boy, they will be nice to slip into in the evening looking out at the stars.

The golf course (9 hole) looked really nice. People did say it was slow - but hey, you’re on vacation - go slow and enjoy it. The beach wasn’t a far walk at all - we enjoyed it. Temperate climate so you were never overly hot. The sun though is very strong - be sure to use lots of sunscreen. We wandered around with the car - streets aren’t marked too well but it is a small island and we saw interesting things - lighthouse, goats, fallen natural bridge, great waves, glorious colored ocean, iguanas, ground owls. The resort does offer all-inclusive for $75/day/person.

Marriott Aruba Surf Club Resort Review

Friday, August 22nd, 2008

The Marriott is a great resort, and we absolutely loved it. Aruba is a small enough island that you can get around fairly easy without a rental car. A taxi from the airport to the resort is $25 and will carry up to five people. The bus stops right in front of the resort and goes downtown and more importantly to the grocery store where you can stock up on supplies for your stay. The bus fare is $2.30 round trip; the drivers are very courteous and will let you know where to get off the bus if you ask them.

the lazy river at the resort is great, it has a current that allows you to float around the course without much effort. When we weren’t floating around the river, we would walk against the current for a good work out. The beach is great, although the first two steps into the surf have lots of coral and shells that have been washed ashore. Although it’s smooth it feels bumpy on your feet. Once past that, it’s soft smooth sand. The resort does a good job of keeping the beach clean which is a never ending battle and you can walk along the beach for quite a long way. The beach faces approximately west, so there are some absolutely beautiful sunsets and lots of photo opportunities.

There are many places to eat at the resort and in town, including a buffet at the adjacent Ocean Club. There is also a restaurant that sets up right on the beach each evening for a romantic sunset diner. Aruba tours can be easily booked in the resort or right on the beach. There are many options ranging from bus tours of the island to snorkeling trips, kite surfing, wind surfing, parasailing, etc. There are many places to shop in town and you can find everything from t-shirts to great jewelry to linen and china from Holland, all within walking distance of one another. Shop around for smaller souvenirs as the price will vary from shop to shop. Also, we’ve found that shopping on a day when cruise ships are not in port will produce better bargains.

The Surf Club is adjacent to the Ocean Club and the Marriott Hotel and it’s a short walk from one to the other. The hotel has a casino with many games and the Ocean Club has a sports bar, Champions, which has a lot of great memorabilia, and they also hold a karaoke night.

The trip was great, the weather was fabulous. We’re already looking forward to a return to Aruba.
