Cancun Ocean Club Review

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

Ocean Club timeshare resort is surrounded by vacation pleasures. Located on the island of Cancun, the resort is across the street from the beautiful lagoon and just moments from a 18-hole golf course and tennis courts. Cancun’s biggest shopping area, many restaurants, and night spots also are close by. If you want to venture farther away, you can take day-trips to see the mysterious Mayan ruins on the nearby mainland. All the suites are overlooking the golf course, giving you the most beautiful sunset view.

Ocean Club is located on the Pok-Ta-Pok peninsula alongside the Golf course. As such it is not on “the strip” which can be a problem if you do not want to pay for a taxi every time you leave the resort or if you do not want to rent a vehicle.

Allegro Caribbean Villages Cancun Review

Monday, September 29th, 2008

Allegro Caribbean Villages Cancun timeshare resort offers a superb setting for that perfect seaside vacation. The captivating turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea are just minutes away, attracting vacationers to explore their vast beauty with fantastic scuba diving and snorkeling excursions. You can enjoy waterskiing and boating only six blocks away. On-site activities could include golf, tennis, or swimming in the outdoor pool. After an active day, settle down for a good meal at the resort’s restaurant.

The staff - reception, activities, custodial, waiters are charming. The staff are always eager to please - they were friendly, accommodating, and gracious. You couldn’t help but notice the extraordinary care the kids’ club staff extended to the little ones they were watching. The food in the general buffet is plentiful and fresh, some offerings are cooked on the spot — the desserts are remarkable! The sit-down restaurants (Mexican, Italian, Brazilian) offer a welcomed change. The pool is fine, but the beach is wonderful.

Moon Palace Timeshare Resort Review

Sunday, September 28th, 2008

Palace Resort at Moon Palace timeshare resort offers you a world of tropical vacation pleasures. Bask on the powdery, white-sand beaches; swim and snorkel in aquamarine waters; or try your luck at deep-sea fishing. Back on land, enjoy the resort’s tennis courts, gym, swimming pool, and restaurants or you can tour the ancient Mayan Ruins.

The whole Moon Palace timeshare Resort is huge and delightful, great rooms with beach views and Jacuzzi tubs. Restaurants were great, excellent food and service too. The buffets always had various choices, so you did not feel like you were getting the same meal each time. The ala carte restaurants were a little more upscale with the emphasis on quality and presentation.

Buses or golf carts took you everywhere on the resort, never a long wait. Beach is not that great but not horrible either. But you should definitely take a bus trip to one of the other Palace Resorts in the hotel zone, about a 15 minute bus ride, which they provide. We went to the Cancun Palace. What a gorgeous beach, and you have full use of their facilities as well, including the restaurants. The pools are great, with swim up bars and food all day and night.

Grounds were very large resort - beautiful grounds - very clean - walkways everywhere. There are two large pools which both are very nice. The resort is very secluded - nothing around resort - approx. 20 minutes to hotel zone. All Inclusive Features: Accommodations, fine dining, snacks, top shelf drinks (domestic & imported), non-motorized water sports, entertainment, all taxes & gratuities.

Melia Vacation Club at Gran Melia Cancun Review

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

Melia Vacation Club at Gran Melia Cancun a timeshare resort you should visit. The Caribbean Sea and the Melia Vacation Club at Melia Cancun are the perfect combination to enjoy an unforgettable vacation. Its fabulous decoration of gardens and its impressive image make this vacation destination an Eden.

The property consists of 5 towers. Each tower is built around its own atrium with the central atrium being especially grand. Two of the towers are “vacation club” units and the others are “hotel.” However, there is an “exclusive” pool area that we assume is associated with a correspondingly “exclusive” section of the hotel. The entire property was very clean and well maintained.

There is a very large pool area, a smaller “adults only” pool (though this didn’t seem to be strictly enforced) and the aforementioned “exclusive” pool. All are unheated. Drink and food service was always readily available.

An all-inclusive option is available. A very nice feature is that you don’t need to take it for the full week, just a minimum of 3 contiguous days. The option is inclusive of all food in all restaurants, with a few exceptions like lobster costing an additional $12, and all drinks (even bottles of wine at dinner!) in the restaurants, lobby bar, and pool bar.
Entertainment (a cultural show, a mariachi band) was provided several evenings in the central atrium.

The resort is has a good location on Kulkulcan Blvd., but like many other resorts and hotels, the walk to the bus stop, was a bit of a trek. The staff throughout the facility is all very friendly and efficient. There is even a doctor’s office on site.

The Aventura Spa Palace Review

Friday, September 26th, 2008

The Aventura Spa Palace timeshare resort, nestled in the heart of the Riviera Maya, is the new expression of luxury with the Palace Resorts hotel family. The property sits on 85 acres, combining the exuberant virgin jungle, typical of the state of Quintana Roo with wide and spacious lawns and gardens, carefully designed to please the senses. The 474 luxurious rooms of this splendid resort are divided into four ample, 3-floor, low-rise buildings.

Aventura Spa Palace has an impressive array of fitness facilities including a spinning room, complete aerobic room with daily classes, indoor sound pool, yoga hut, lap pool, current pool, obstacle course through the jungle, 100 foot climbing wall, tennis courts, and much more.

The large spa offers a host of hydrotherapy services, including steam rooms, dry saunas, swiss and pressure showers, foot baths, and a cold plunge. Spa treatments available include couples’ massage (rooms with ocean views), facials, medical evaluation, and more. There are 95 treatment rooms.

Aventura Spa Palace’s architecture resembles the old Mexican Haciendas with a contemporary touch. From the central patio with its colonial fountain and the romantic archways, down to the natural tile floor and the carefully handcrafted furniture, it all combines to create a magical setting. This timeshare resort is oriented towards the spectacular Mexican Caribbean. Protected and secluded by a natural rock and coral formation, our guests find a beautiful carved inlet of transparent, turquoise waters bordering 660 feet of white sand, creating an exclusive and secure hideaway with numerous lounge chairs resting under the soothing shadow of the palapas.

This is an adults-only, all inclusive resort; all guests must be over the age of 18. The all inclusive plan includes dining, snacks, top shelf drinks, room service, paddleboats, kayaks, snorkeling, entertainment, and all tax and gratuities.

The most striking feature of the resort is the level of service from the staff. From putting fluffy towels on your lounge chair – two, one rolled up perfectly for your head! – to bringing you drinks right on the beach, from offering personalized attention at the gym and spa to even carrying your plate from the buffet area to your table at breakfast, the personnel were outstanding. Everyone is trained, after every interaction with you, to say, “It’s a pleasure,” and you feel that it is sincere.

The resort is adult-only, and relatively small. Its design and décor are modern and minimalist, with a white color scheme (per the resort name). As is apparently the case in most resorts in the Palace chain, there is a double Jacuzzi tub in every guestroom. Le Blanc has a butler on every floor to answer questions, a pillow menu, comfortable furnishings, terrific bathrooms and toiletries, free room service and daily restocking of the minibar included in the package, etc.

There are four restaurants – international, Italian, Asian and multi-course gourmet. There is entertainment at night, but no party atmosphere – a woman pop-style singer accompanied by a pianist, Flamenco dancers with a guitarist, a dance group out by the pool area representing the four elements, etc.

If you pay the all-inclusive fee ahead of time instead of waiting until you arrive at the front desk at check-in, you receive the “Passport” package that allows you to choose among several free tours. Overall, it was a completely different vacation feeling than our usual timeshare trade where we drive and shop. We consider it a super relaxing, and an experience all should enjoy.

Krystal International Vacation Club Cancun Review

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

Krystal International Vacation Club Cancun timeshare resort offers the specialized attention all vacationers’ desire. The resort is located in Punta Cancun Beach, next to the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. Enjoy the health club, tennis or racquetball courts aquatic activities, and the outdoor pool.

The unit looked freshly painted with beautiful draperies and bedding. The bed in the master bedroom is a king size mattress. There is no balcony, but the view was outstanding nonetheless. All small appliances and the undercounter fridge looked new as did the flat screen TV. The kitchen has a microwave and no cook top. The air conditioning was super, and it was easy to modulate the temperature.

There is a 20% discount on Krystal’s restaurants and bars given both to Krystal owners and RCI exchangers. Just make sure the waiter is given your RCI card to ensure you get the discount.

The pool area and beach were beautiful. An assortment of shade opportunities are provided at the resort.

The resort is at the point of the 7 that makes up Cancun–Punta Cancun. As a result, you can walk to several malls, clubs, etc. The local bus is a short walk away and is only the equivalent of 65 cents. Public shuttle transportation from the airport is only $9. USD per person; you pay at the taxi counter just before you exit the airport.

Do realize that even numbered units at the Krystal are “city” view; odd numbered units face the ocean.

Imperial Fiesta Club at Hotel Casa Maya Review

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

Gaze upon the crystal-blue waters of the Caribbean from Imperial Fiesta Club at Hotel Casa Maya timeshare. Located on the beach, this resort boasts three outdoor swimming pools, tennis courts, and a host of activities for seafaring guests. Sailboats, sailboards, and scuba and snorkeling equipment are available to help you enjoy the beautiful offshore world.

This timeshare resort has a full service spa, 2 tennis courts that looked in great shape, a nice looking workout room, indoor and outdoor restaurants which they would rotate for dinner service. Breakfast was always indoors with AC and an ocean view. An outdoor snack bar with beach and poolside service, 30 plus beach palapas, 3 pools which are very clean even through heavy use, 2 jacuzzis, internet use at $5 an hour.

Units are spacious and very comfortable. The kitchens have a four burner cooktop (no oven), fridge, microwave, dishwasher, blender, and the usual kitchen basics that allows for some meal preparation. The resort staff is open to any reasonable request and they really do make a great effort to ensure that you are having a great vacation.

The units are cleaned daily and fresh linens are always available. This timeshare resort is fairly close to town, not too large (hence not too crowded or busy), away from the real noisy areas of the hotel zone, has easy access to many activities and has the feel of a home away from home.

The resort has a great location. The lobby and grounds are immaculate. The staff is very helpful and friendly. There are enough beach chairs on the beach to go around. The beach is swimmable and calm. The beach is of good size and has plenty of shallow areas which are great for kids. The bus stops are short walks and the bus fare is about 65 cents. You’re close to several port docks to ride over to Isla Mujeres and purchase ocean activities. Punta Cancun is a 10min bus ride away. The Large Mexican Flag is across the street from the resort.

We heard the Welcome Party on Monday evening advertised as the best Welcome Party at a timeshare. The party is on the beach, they setup tables and chairs, have a buffet with appetizers, for drinks rum punch, beer, margaritas, and wine. They also have entertainment. People were dancing on the beach; people report lots of fun.

Check-out is quick and could be squared up on Friday so you can express check-out on Sat. The bellhops arrive to take your bags quickly when called. Airport transfer arrive on time and you have no problems at the airport.

Golden Shores & Crown Paradise Club Cancun Review

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

Begin your timeshare vacation in tropical paradise at the Golden Shores Cancun. The resort boasts a magnificent beach, and for those hot chili-pepper afternoons, there’s an indoor pool. Sample exotic drinks at one of the resort’s six restaurants. Comfortable units, each with a glorious view of the Caribbean, compliment your vacation.

Golden Shores & Crown Paradise Club Cancun is an All inclusive timeshare resort. The People are so friendly and the food is GREAT! Minutes from Downtown Cancun. Every room a ocean view!

The beach was great, nice sand, some waves but not too much for the kids. The food was good-great with a lot of variety and fun at the restaurants. The drinks were good and plentiful, and there was nightly entertainment. In addition the staff was friendly, energetic and responsive to our needs and desires.

All the units face the breathtaking ocean and pools. They offer a theme every night filled with live entertaining shows. The food is superb! There is Italian, Mexican, Seafood, Steakhouse, etc cuisines to choose from. The staff is awesome. Especially the staff in charge of the Kiddie Club. This resort definitely knows how to please the youngest crowd.

Check in was a breeze. If you have kids this is the place to be.

Girasol Review

Sunday, September 21st, 2008

Let Girasol introduce you to Cancun. A postcard come to life, Cancun is a kaleidoscope of silky beaches, iridescent lagoons, and shiny new hotels. The resort is on a Caribbean beach and offers a tennis court and a pool. Although you’ll find the most up-to-date amenities here, nearby Mayan ruins lend a fascinating aura of history.

Girasol is a fine timeshare resort, not as new as some but the location was nice. It is close to the point where there is a lot of activity. The beach is on the ocean side which means strong wave action but you are within walking (moderate) to the beach over by the Camino Real which is great for snorkeling.
